Are there any laws reguarding air conditioning in buildings open to the public?
I work in a large store of all metals that is open the public. We do not have air conditioning. We, as employees, have access to the offices with air conditioning and free water in the office. However, in the warehouse, we only have 3 fans on the floor and 3 behind the records. There are large industrial type exhaust fans have told us much lower temperature, but we are not allowed to On again. It is assumed that 97 degrees this week, and inside its usually at least 10 degrees hotter. Our clients almost melt in the heat ... Is there something we can do? I looked in the OSHA, but it just makes no sense to me. Can anyone help?
No, but it would be good for management do something about it because it would materially improve productivity.
