What takes more energy to operate, 6 fans or air conditioning?
ok. So in my house, I have an air conditioner, and in my first floor. The only problem is, my top floor does not receive the effects of the A / C. .. unless I have a mass of fans running. I have 2 standing fans .... 2 double window fan (no windows), ceiling fans and two runs each time the A / C is to cool the rooms upstairs. Also, I have an extra 5000 BTU air conditioner in my garage. Do you think it would cost more to run the A / C, or the six fans?
air conditioning would cost a little more to work, but not enough to be uncomfortable. Most air conditioners have an Energy Star program adjusting the thermostat or built in to help with the amount of electricity used.
