what makes a remote control fan operate by itself?
I have a fan light fixture that is controlled by remote and it will turn on and off by itself. The remote can be sitting on the table and the fan just turns on, or light turns on. Weird.
Ha! Thats a good one. One of your neighbors has the same model with the same factory preset RC freq. Look in your battery compartment on your remote and you will see a series of 4 small switches. You can change them. However you need to locate the reciever in the fan housing and make certain to change those switches as well.

On the plus side is that you can use your RC to mess with your neighbors fan and light as well.
