All bears most likely descended from one kind of bear. As they spread out over the earth they developed different coats and variations within their gene pool. Before the flood, supposedly there was only a warm climate. That is why there are fossilized plants and animals found at the north and south poles. The whole earth was inhabitable. There are plenty of cold climate animals that do just fine at zoos in warm climate cities. They are created to adapt well just as are we.
