At what point would add to my home fans diminish saving of not using the AC?
Say you raise the temperature in the AC, but adds Instead fans in different rooms. Floor standing oscillating fans, that is, no ceiling fans, even if you are the always will. 77 with moving air feels better than 74 outside, and that's a big difference in the energy bill. But at what point the fans start using more energy then it is worth? If we are comfortable in 80 degrees, but with 6 fans in a room blowing at full speed, would it be cheaper to run only on AC? Edit: Doobie obviously do not live in central Texas. Who said anything about 80? 80 without fans, ie.
It would take many fans to equal the power consumption of an A / C compressor motor. So fans are probably the cheapest approach. If you lived through the Gulf, as in the area of Houston / Galveston, I'd recommend one for all dehumidifier home (and fans), but you may not have a problem with high humidity where you are.
